Hole machining is one kind of the most commonly used methods in material removal, accounted about 22% of the total cutting time in the machinery industry, in some machinery industry drilling process can be 30-40% of the total process, and with the development of mechanical manufacturing industry, drilling is applied more and more, and its processing quality requirements are also increasing. Compared to other drill type, complex helical drill has good self-centering, cutting stability and many other advantages, in a certain extent improved materials'processing quality, especially some difficult-to-cut materials, has great market potential. The parallel machine tool has a series of advantages, such as high stiffness, high carrying capacity. Therefore, grinding of complex helical drill by parallel machine tool will not only improve grinding efficiency but also improve improve grinding quality. This thesis stuy on the grinding theory and experiment of complex helical drill based on a kind of parallel machine tool, incloude following area:(1) Mainly introduced the grinding principle and method, include plane face pyramidal facecylndrical surfacehyperboloid surface helical surface, and analysed their advantages and disadvantages, conclude that complex helical drill is better in self-centering, cutting stability and so on; Analysed the differences and advantages between parallel machine tool and traditional machine tool, conclude that grinding of complex helical drill by parallel machine tool can improve grinding quality.(2) Conside of grinding characteristics of complex helical drill, proved that this machine tool can not only grinding complex helical drill but also complete many other work by the anslysis of structure and control system of the machine tool.(3) Established mathematical model of complex helical drill and based on this model analysed the relationship between grinding parameters and design parameters.(4) Added the limit program?video surveillance system and grinding system, improved security and maneuverability of the machine tool, made the grinding action linked up and achieved toolsetting automatically, improved the grinding efficiency and grinding quality.(5) Conducted complex helical drill grinding experiments and the analysis experiment between grinding parameters and geometric angle of drill, proved that this machine tool can complete the grinding of complex helical drill, the mathematical mode is right and the choice of grinding parameters is reasonable, determined the effect of grinding parameters on geometric angle of drill. Simulation of the trajectory of helical drill and complex helical drill and grinding experiment proved complex helical drill has higher strength.(6) Experiment showed that compared with other drill, complex helical drill has small axial force?torque and higher hole machining quality.
