Drilling plays a very important role in mechanical processing because about one-third of the workload was hole processing in metal cutting process.Twist drill is the most commonly used drilling tool,especially the conical twist drill. But it can’t satisfy the machining precision for its bad centring and big axial force.While the helicoid twist drill overcome these shortcomings, and become a more important research.This article is study on helical drill grinding and simulation technology based on biglide parallel machine.Studying the basic theory of twist drill first to lay the groundwork for the subsequent analysis and experiment.Deducing the mathematical model of the helicoid drill and establishing the relation between the geometric parameters and grinding parameters.lt is necessary to verify the experiment conditions based on biglide parallel machine and establish a formula between motion parameters of biglide parallel machine and grinding parameters because this experiment is conducted on biglide parallel machine.Secondly, developing a convenient man-machine interface based on the mathematical model and parameter relation for simulation.Establishing a man-machine interface based on the relation between grinding parameters and geometric parameters of twist drill and the relation between grinding parameters and motion parameters of biglide parallel machine to solve grinding parameters and machine parameters.To realize the three-dimensional simulation of helicoid twist drill in the interface of machine tool control by mixed programming of Visual Basic and MATLAB.Finally,conducting experiment of grinding and drilling to verify theoretical research.Grinding is an experiment based on the established interface of parameters solution.Comparing grinding drill with theoretical drill in geometric parameters,to verify the correctness of parameters solution and mathematical model.Then comparing helicoid twist drill with general drill in drilling force and torque to verify its advantages.Research shows that:we can grind the required helicoid twist drill based on biglide parallel machine which can improve the drilling quality and extend the life of drill for its good centering and smaller drill force.
