After the ending of mining of open-pit mine that seam is inclined and transport by railway, tend to form several square kilometers to more than 10 square kilometers, surrounded by a large deep pit for high and steep slope, and the resulting series of mine geological disasters, environmental and social problems. Haizhou Open-pit Mine pits since 2005, formed a long 4 km, 2 km wide,350 m deep abandoned mines, mine geological park construction began in 2007.South slope deformation and failure of the geological hazards, such as, land subsidence, the residual coal spontaneous combustion seriously affect the construction of the mine geological park.In this paper, take south high and steep slope of Haizhou Open-pit Mine as the engineering background, the integrated use of field research, theoretical analysis and limit equilibrium, numerical simulation methods and means, the effect factors of slope stability were discussed, analysis of the slope potential landslide model, to evaluate the stability of south slope, determine the south slope of the landslide mechanism, the cutting slope to reduce load on the stability of south slope in influence law were analyzed, and the south slope in comprehensive treatment measures are put forward. The results show that the south slope in Haizhou Open-pit Mine landslide model is circular sliding; W5, W3, E2?E5 profile of south help do not conform to the requirements of the safety stock, it is concluded that W5. W3 profile should be cut to 37°, E2 should be cut to 36°?E5 profile; Proposed is given priority to with cutting slope to reduce load south for dangerous section of the comprehensive control measures.
