Shearer is the core equipment of the process of coal production and the important factor to achieve automation and modernization? As a key component of shearer, the performance of electrical haulage unit has an important impact on the performance and quality of coal production. With the increasing demand for coal nowadays, in order to improve the efficiency of coal production, the shearer's haulage speed and traction force is being continuously improved, which results in the increasing load in its traction motor. The method of variable frequency speed regulation based on vector control is used to change the speed of traction motor steplessly to make sure it operate in its efficient area,therefore it is possible to obtain better dynamic characteristics. However, the speed control system is influenced by the motor's parameters,in addition, the changes of traction's motor output torque will affect the force of the shearer haulage unit's parts and even the whole shearer's parts,which has a huge impact on its reliability and service life.In this paper, a complete three-dimensional geometric model of shearer is created in PRO/E and kinematics simulation is done in ADAMS. Through analyzing the mechanics relationship between drum and haulage unit and introducing the variable frequency speed regulation system base on vector control, the electromechanical coupling model of variable frequency speed regulation system in shearer is created and simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK to study its speed performance. In addition, the structural static contact analysis and fatigue life of key parts in the haulage unit under this speed control system is analyzed in ANSYS to further check its reliability. The research method in the paper has an important reference for the design and research of shearer frequency control system.
