As the main mining device of fully mechanized mining face,the shearer had a direct influence on the level of mining machinery automation.Traction ministry was the main part of a shearer.So its property was a key factor to the coal production efficiency.As the rapid development of computer and electronic related technologies and the appearance of new control theory, the method of variable frequency speed regulation which was based on vector control was used in the shearer. Thus, the efficiency of the shear was greatly improved.These control systems mostly employed traditional PID control.Although this control method had the advantages of simpliness and stability,it couldn't adjust the timing system according to different working condition at any time.Besides, the generator parameters had great influence on the variable frequency speed regulation system which was based on vector control. Meanwhile, the change of torque which was output by traction motor had huge influence on the force bearing condition and motion state of every part in the shearer.The cutting part force is the biggest and the output end bearing belongs to the low speed and heavy load bearing.It's working environment is bad, easy to damage, the replacement cycle is long, a direct impact on the reliability of the shearer.This paper introduced the variable frequency speed regulation system based on vector control and adopted simulink toolbox to build the simulative model of the shearer speed regulation system which had the fuzzy PID control and traditional PID control. Then conducted simulations based on the actual conditions and studied its speed performance. The result could be acquired that using the fuzzy controller performance of the system was better and more efficient. Besides, dynamic characteristics of traction portion take-off lever bearing which was controlled by speed regulation system were analysed by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and the reliability of the speed regulation system was further checked.The research method in the paper had an important reference for the design and research of shearer frequency control system.
