Because of volatile, global mobility, bioaccumulation characteristics, mercury wastewater results in huge impact on human survival and development.A lot of mercury pollution poisoning incidents sounded the alarm for human, such as Minamata disease. At present, the domestic oil and gas field wastewater containing a certain amount of mercury ions, and the highest concentration nearly close to 1000mg/L,this results a lot of difficult for water recycling.Usually, the domestic oil and gas fields use sulfide precipitation method to deal with high mercury wastewater, but the disadvantages, the medicaments are difficult to judge, flocculation difficulties, mercury residues etc, make it difficult to deal with mercury wastewater efficiently. This paper aiming at the shortage of current processing methods, combined with montmorillonite adsorption ability and the advantages of sulfide precipitation, preparing a kind of adsorbent which is used in mercury removal from gas field wastewater, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 35mg/g.And the ability of removing mercury form wastewater is determined based on the remaining mercury icon concentration in the wastewater after treated. In this paper,we also studied several factors which may have great impact on mercury removal, such as oil, impurities and other heavy metal icons, and so on.Results show that, oil and suspended solids has little affects on mercury removal, and the presence of other heavy metal icons can improve the mercury removal ability, making the adsorbents can dealing with the wastewater containing mercury icon 900mg/L.After optimizing operating parameters, this method can efficiently remove mercury icon from Kela2 gas field wastewater in Xinjiang, the mercury concentration decreased from 600mg/L to 0.05mg/L,forming a mercury containing wastewater treatment process with actual application value.
