Five-membered 1,2,4-diazaphospholide complexes have recently attracted great interest. Complexes with 1,2,4-diazaphospholide ligands are potential in organic synthesis, catalysis, and new materials. This paper describes the synthesis of1,2,4-diazaphospholide sandwich ferric complexes and a few of2,6-(bis-1,2,4-diazaphosphol-1-yl)pyridine nickel(II), cobalt(II), and iron(II) complexes. All complexes were characterized by melting point determination, nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR), and X-Ray single crystal diffraction analysis.1. The reaction of potassium 3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2,4-diazaphospholide and potassium 3,5-di-phenyl-1,2,4-diazaphospholide with Cp*Li, and iron dichloride in a ratio of 1:1:1 gave complexes[Cp*Fe(3,5-t Bu2dp)] and [Cp*Fe(3,5-Ph2dp)], respectively.2. The reaction of 2,6-bis(1,2,4-diazaphosphol-1-yl)pyridine and Fe(BF42?6H2O, Co(BF42?6H2O, and Ni(BF42?6H2O in a ratio of 2:1 gave complexes {[(2,6-dp2)py]2Fe}2+(BF42, {[(2,6-dp2)py]2Co}2+(BF42,{[(2,6-dp2)py]2Ni}2+(BF42, respectively.
