Water pollution incident destroyed the ecological balance and restricted economic development at the same time is also a threat to human health. In recent years, drinking water safety problem has caused people’s attention with the frequent occurrence of water pollution emergency According to the characteristics of water pollution incidents to deal with, we need to a on-site rapid water quality testing method of a wide measuring range, rapid detection and accurate data transmission. Fast and accurate grasp of the water quality condition has an important significance for effective control and deal with accident treatment.UV-VIS spectrophotometer,gas chromatograph and plasma emission spectometer are common instruments of water quality detection, these instruments areusually large volume, complicated and long time consumed, so these instruments are difficult to meet the requirements of on-site rapid detection, the traditional wired network and wireless network can not adapt to the characteristics of dispersed locations and transfer data for long distance transmission. On the basis of summarizing the domestic and foreign development status of portable water quality analysis instrument,this paper presents a rapid detection method of portable rapid water quality analysis instrument based on GPRS.In this paper, a portable fast water quality analysis instrument based on GPRS is the designed. The instrument use four monochrome LED as light source, photodiode as optical detector.The communication system using GPRS module realized the long distance data transmission. For a different color response characteristics of water quality parameters, adding the appropriate reagent,color,absorbance and concentration are analyzed.The experimental research in this paper include hexavalent chromium ion, phosphate, ammonia nitrogen, iron, copper as the representative parameters with rapid detection reagent.We chose the corresponding light detection wavelength according to the absorption characeristics of color reaction,got the standard curve of absorbance and concentration.The correlation coefficient of targed parameters are more than 0.99 and the correlation coefficient of iron ion is more than 0.98. The sensitivity of hexavalent chromium ions and phosphate solution is significantly higher than the national standard method. In repeated tests of phosphate, the relative standard deviation is less than 5%, the detection results of actual sample concentration had no significant difference with the national standard method, the recovery rate of ammonia experiment is 98%-105%.This paper completed a portable rapid water quality analyzer based on GPRS, with the corresponding reagent,the analyzer has the characteristics of small volume, simple operation and easy to carry, it can be used for rapid detection of field water quality and achieve the wireless transmission of data.
