In this paper, one novel compound has been synthesized, namely [Cd3(TTR4A)3(H2O)6][NO3]6· 3DMF·3H2O, which based on tetrakis(1,2,4-triazol-ylmethyl)resorcin[4]arene (TTR4A) and Cd2+. The compound was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analyzes and characterized by infrared spectra (IR.). Compound 1 is made up of three Cd2+ ions and three TTR4A ligands, and displays a novel mono-molecular capsule structure with a big cavity. The ?...? interactions between the single molecular connect the capsules into a 3D supramolecular architecture.The absorption capacity of I2 was tested in this paper. The solid-state luminescent properties at room temperature, variable temperature luminescence and fluorescent lifetime of the compound have been investigated. We systematically study the luminescent sensing properties of compound for metal cations, anions and small organic molecules. The ion exchange of the compound has also been tested. The ion exchange process of 1 was tested by inductively coupled plasma analysis and powder X-ray diffraction.
