| Sealing devices have become increasingly demanding, with the scale of petrochemical enterprise and equipment become larger and larger. Biconical seal structure has been widely used in various types of pressure vessel sealing structure, cause of its good overall sealing performances. The common structures of high pressure seal forms can be divided into mandatory seal, semi-tight seal and self-tight seal, according to the different forces of seal. Biconical seal is a semi-tight seal, its structure is simple, and it is easy to process, assemble and disassemble, being adaptive for pressure and temperature fluctuations. But its sealing principle is complicated, and its performance is affected by many factors.This paper analyzed the force both under pretightening and operating conditio ns, on the basis of the principle of double-cone ring seal. And also analyzed the factors affecting the performance of the double-cone seal, such as media pressure, radial clearance, double-cone ring’s size, double-cone ring seal’s surface width, double-cone ring seal’s surface contact as well as primary preload and so on.In this paper, a sealing system of synthetic ammonia tower was designed, based on the theoretical analysis. The flange design method specified in GB150 was selected, after comparing some current common flange seal design methods. Then the parameters of double-cone ring seal, ring flange bolts’ parameters and connections were designed, and obtained the structure size of washer, double-cone ring and bolts.Always, the environment around the double-cone ring seal system cannot be static. Fluctuations of pressure and temperature in different ranges will occur. Therefore, the entire sealing system’s adaptability to environmental fluctuations was analyzed, and the result of the double-cone ring seal’s adaptability was good. In addition, this article also introduced the double-cone ring seal’s mounting from the bolt’s connected method, order and bolt load’s monitoring and measuring three aspect. |
