AS/RS is a part of modern logistics equipment technology, usually composed of vertical rack, stacker, shuttle, conveyor system, control system, and warehouse management information system. Currently, AS/RS has been increasingly promoted and applied in port, logistics and distribution center, machinery, pharmaceutical, tobacco, metallurgy, chemical, aerospace, electronics, books, food processing, printing, airport and other industries.First of all, this thesis studied the building of AS/RS system structure in a cigarette factory. The system structure consists of equipment execution layer, dispatching and monitoring layer, and information management components. Among them, equipment execution layer is the bottom, which mainly controls operation of stacker, AGV, shuttle, conveyor and other equipment after receiving instruction from the dispatching and monitoring layer, and transmits process data to the dispatching and monitoring layer. As the middle layer, the dispatching and monitoring layer receives instruction from logistics management layer, breaks it down and issues to specific operation execution layer through operation interface layer, to carry out unified dispatching of the logistics process and realize monitoring and control of various logistics links, field equipment, process parameters and process points. The information management layer is mainly a logistics information system, which can provide data exchange interface for the factory-level MES system, the company-level ERP system and production-related subsystems. It can run independently when MES system and ERP system are not perfectly completed, to ensure the system can maintain normal and stable production following the production process requirements. Next, this paper analyzed and studied construction of the AS/RS on three aspects respectively, from hardware selection, electrical control system design, to information system design. Among them, the electronic control and information systems are the core of the AS/RS. Therefore, this paper focused on these two aspects.After the AS/RS construction is completed, it will enable automation of entry, exit, storage, and feeding of cigarette raw materials, and greatly improve production efficiency through ERP and MES data docking with a host system.
