The SCADA system project of coal bed methane in southern Qinshui Basin was used as an example in this paper, through the preliminary investigation and according to the actual conditions and requirements of engineering design, in order to guarantee safety in production, reduce production costs, improve utilization efficiency of coal bed gas, so the whole set of SCADA system was designed for coal gas mining, which belongs to the engineering application subject. The collaborative mode has been adopted in the monitoring system:the hypogynous machine takes S7-400 PLC as control core responsible for the acquisition and processing of the field parameters,the upper computers using WinCC configuration softeware display data from the lower machine and finish the function of database archiving, reflect the situation on-site production process through configuring and display to the user the fault information, real-time status data, trend curves and so on, provide strong support for the safe operation of coal bed methane production and utilization.In addition, the latest redundant technology has been introduced to increase the reliability of the control system, which ensures that the system can realize the seamless connection of the data and the non disturbance switching.For the setting of the PID parameters problem,the host computer configure the corresponding interface to avoid the trouble of repeating modify the user program in the step7, improve the efficiency of the whole set. convenient online real-time control. The results of system simulation show that it is feasible and effective.From the initial hardware selection to the hardware configuration and communication to build a dual machine hot standby system, from the hypogynous machine field parameter acquisition and processing to the host computer monitoring system software design, this paper has a detailed description. This set of coal seam gas exploitation SCADA system was directly applied into the Shizhuang South 3# gathering station for actual using, the actual operation of the system also has certain reference significance for similar topics research.
