SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system is a computer-based production scheduling and process control automation system for automation management and site monitor. It contains a variety of techniques, including measuring technology, automatic control technology, sensor technology, communications technology, database technology and so on. SCADA system is mainly used to implement field data collection, equipment control, parameter adjustment, alarm signal, data query, reporting and other tasks. It have been widely applied in the electric power system, heating system, water treatment system, chemical industry system, steel system and other systems.In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s gas industry, SCADA system in the gas industry has also been widely used. This paper takes an enterprise of gas transmission and distribution system upgrade project as the research object. The design and development process of the gas transmission and distribution SCADA system have been conducted in-depth study on the basis of in-depth analysis of SCADA systems principle. In this paper, iFix configuration software is the core part of the gas transmission and distribution SCADA system, and various functions needed in the system are implemented. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The functional requirements of the gas Transmission and distribution SCADA system are found out. On this basis, System architecture and design principles are proposed. From both software and hardware, the overall design is made out of.2. The user management system, I/O driver configuration, construction of the process database, construction of the historical database and the human machine interface of the On-site monitoring are implemented. Through these the basic functions of gas transmission and distribution SCADA system are completed.3. Ways of making report form through reading the process database and historical database of the SCADA system are discussed. Then we use VBA+ADO+EXCEL to achieve the generation, browsing, printing of the report forms of the system.4. We use iFIX WebSpace and other software to create a Web publishing subsystem of the SCADA system. The functions of Web publishing of the gas transmission and distribution SCADA system data and remote control through a web browser are implemented.
