With the rapid development of our country's railway construction, China has stepped in "high speed, heavy duty" era. In order to ensure the flatness of rails applied in high speed railway and passenger special lines, Chengdu Railroad Bureau has been assigned to reform the 25m-rail manufacturing base into 100m-rail base following the requirment of 11th-5-plan. To meet the qualificaitons of automatical production and intellengizing management, it is required to design a monitor&control system on welding rails convoy lines to advance productive efficiency and guarantee productive safety.According to the requirements above, this article has designed and realized the monitor&control system based on Ethernet. This system employs DCS mould composed of IPC-PLC-Inverter. By means of configuration software, IPC can communicate with PLC through Ethernet. Besides, by communication between PLC and inverter, IPC can form HMI to change the frequency of inverter, display the faults and status of inverter and save important data of inverter to fulfill visualization management and real-time monitor.This article has reasonably planed the structure of software and hardware, accomplished the design of monior&control system networks, drew and configured the interface, completed fault-gathered programming and designed controlling logic on convoy lines. According to the application in Shi Bantan welding rail production base, it is represented that this new system has realized such functions as efficient monitor,faults display and data saving,eventually increasing the auto-level and guaranteeing stability.
