The face gear is a gear which is engaged with the cylindrical gear to realize the space intersection or cross transmission.Because the tooth surface of face gear is complex,the tooth surface accuracy control is always a key problem in manufacturing.In the process of face gear production,reducing the tooth surface roughness value can improve the gear meshing accuracy and reliability.This paper is aimed to improve the accuracy of tooth surface,research and analysis on the face gear roughness and geometry by the dish wheel grinding,mainly include the following.Firstly,do a brief analysis of the gear grinding technology,the grinding method,the forming mechanism of grinding tooth surface,the formation principle of roughness and its main influence factors.Based on the orthogonal experiment design put to use the regression analysis method,establishes the face gear surface roughness regression prediction model about grinding consumption,also makes significance analysis on the modle.Finally,the predicted value of the regression model is compared with measured result of the single factor experimental group.The accuracy of the solution of the regression model and the experimental results are verified,which proves the correctness and feasibility of the model.With face gear which ground by five axis linkage NC grinding machine as the research object,establishes the coordinate system of face gear machining to get tooth surface equation,based on the analysis of the machining path of the grinding tooth surface,through the meshing of tooth surfaces,calculates each node position and contact trace vector equation on NC grinding tooth surface.Then,the 3D theoretical residual area heights are translated from grinding wheel abrasive cutting edge and tooth surface contact trace.Finally according to the residual height correction establishes a mathematical model about face gear grinding tooth surface roughness.Based on the analysis of the movement track between the dish wheeland the face gear tooth surface,establishes the coordinate system of the grinding wheel abrasive motion track equation.By solving the coordinates of the adjacent particles intersection points,analysis motion trajectory interference between workpiece and abrasive grain.According to using Matlab simulation software establishes trace contour map about wheel abrasive grinding the face gear tooth surface.Finally,through the grinding wheel coordinates and tooth surface coordinate conversion,marks the tooth surface roughness approximate geometric shape.
