There are a large amount of solid dust pollutants in the production of calcium carbide, e.g., lime powder, carbon powder. These dust wastes not only arise the pollution, but also increase the production cost. In this thesis, we will study on the utilization of these dust wastes.We used lime powder and carbon powder as raw materials, added some additives, and squeezed them into pellets. The pellets were made from carbon powder and organic coal tar or inorganic calcium hydroxide, where the process conditions were obtained. Take Dahuangshan industry park of Xinjiang Zhongtai chemical company as an example. Through comprehensive utilization, solid waste can be reused. the crushing method designed in this research,which have a broad application prospect, has the advantages of short technological process, high work efficiency, low cost and the quality of products.The success chance to make pellet was increased by using coal tar as binder with a suitable composition of semi-coal. as binder and the pelletizing ratio raised. On that premise of keeping strength of the pellets is greater than the lump cokes, try to minimize the use of binder. Carbon pellet was made through combining carbon powder and calcium hydroxide as binder; after suffering CO2 treatment, the final coke pellet was obtained with a good tension, which can meet the requirement of calcium carbide furnace.The optimal molding pressure and moisture content are 35 MPa and 10%, respectively.The industrial application of these products in calcium carbide industry was valued from benefit and process. Taking Dahuangshan industry park of Xinjiang Zhongtai chemical company as an example, the production cost of 11 million yuan per year through the replacement of semi-coke by coke pellet; 15.57 million yuan per year is saved if the lime powder pellet of 100 thousand tons is used per year.
