Nowadays, abuse of illegal drugs and species of synthetic drugs are becoming increasingly serious, and the regulation of illicit drugs abuse is of utmost significant in our society. Therefore, investigating the source of illicit drugs is one of the most effective method in the regulation of illicit drugs abuse. According to the information obtained from the impurities in illegal drug, the synthetic method could be obtained, and then the source of the drug could be identified. Therefore, the useful information in criminal investigations can be provided by the analysis of impurities from seized drugs. In the cases of illicit drugs, the authoritative standards is necessary in the qualitative and quantitative of illegal drugs. In my study, impurities in 2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethylamine (2C-E) tablets are identified. And also, several illegal drugs are isolated and purified in this work.1?The fragment pathway of 2C-E was identified after the MS" determination of 2C-E standard by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to hybrid ion trap-time of flight mass spectrometry (LC/MS-IT-TOF).2?Ten impurities were detected in the 2C-E tablets using an optimized LC/MS-IT-TOF method. According to the exact mass data of MSn and analysis of element composition, the structures often impurities (2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethanolamine acetate, 2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine,2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylmandelonitrile, 2,5-dirnethoxy-4-ethylphenethylarnide, 1-Ethyl-2,5-dimethoxy-4-[(E)-2-nitrovinyl] benzene, 4-bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethanolamine, 2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine,2,5-dimethoxyphenylethenamine, 2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethyl-[1-(phenethylamineoxy)] ethanone) were identified. The synthetic route of the 2C-E tablets was acquired by analysis of these impurities.3?The assay to analysis MDMA sample by analytical HPLC was established, and the optimal preparative HPLC method was obtained, so that the purity of MDMA standard was 99.99% and the yield was 95.13%.4?The assay to analysis 2C-B sample by analytical HPLC was established.2C-B was isolated and purified by preparative HPLC. The purity and yield of prepared 2C-B standard was 99.99% and 96.53%, respectively.5?A HPLC method was established to isolate 2C-E and 2C-I.2C-E and 2C-I standards were obtained by an optimized preparative HPLC method.
