Heat exchanger is widely used in oil refining chemical plant, and its structure is more complex than other static equipment, such as tower, container, etc. So it's one of most easily out of order. At present, refining enterprises' detection and assessment for shell and tube heat exchanger is insufficient, and is basically at the stage of breakdown maintenance. In this paper, Study the RFEC of tube and assessment of heat exchanger by FCC's 51 shell and tube heat exchanger.Through analysis of FCC's corrosion and material circuit, make a preliminary assessment on heat exchanger risk level by ORBIT ONSHORE. Than we make a detection strategy according to heat exchangers'risk level.Design and manufacture a patch of test tubes with typical defects, which are made by different materials and are of different sizes. Establish corresponding relationship between defect and testing signal by trial and error. Ascertain the key detection sites by FLUENT.On the basis of number of field data, calculate the tubes' residual life by engineering algorithm and the algorithm based on Gumbel distribution, which is always used to calculate oil and gas pipeline's residual life, and prove that the algorithm based on Gumbel distribution can obtain the residual life of tube properly by comparing with engineering algorithm. Establish reliable rules of plugging the tube based on the detection results and calculation results.Update the damage factor and mechanical factor by considering inside and outside defects of tube, fouling, vibration, and calculate failure probability on the basis of residual life. Assessment tube bundle and exchanger's risk again, and provide the basis for subsequent detection and monitoring maintenance.
