With the rapid development of China's economy, the problem of environmental pollution is becoming more and more prominent. In recent years, the environmental protection requirements of fuel oil is becoming more and more stringent. National standards IV for gasoline and diesel implemented in 2014 January 1 and 2015 January 1st; National standards V plan to implement in 2017 January 1; and National standards VI also drafted in 2019. In order to make sure that the diesel products reach the national standard, Oil hydrogenation is the most common and most important method.There is a long distance between north and south of China, the climate difference is obvious. In winter, the average temperature in the northern part of China is below twenty-five degrees below zero, while the average temperature in most parts of China in the south is above zero. So for the refinery in the northern region, it is necessary to produce low freezing diesel and ordinary diesel to meet the needs of the various regions of China.In this paper a North refinery as an example, focus on the design and optimization of the diesel hydrogenation unit in the northern area of our country. The main work is as follows:1. According to the different requirements of the diesel market in the northern region in the winter and summer and the specific requirements of the owner, reasonably determine the hydrogenation technology.2. According to the characteristics of the unit, compare, analysis, and determine the production scheme of low freezing diesel in winter and summer, select the design scheme of the reaction section and the fractionation section, select the feeding scheme of the unit.3. Optimize process flow and design parameters, reduce energy consumption, save operating cost and equipment investment.After optimization, the product quality and energy consumption are in the advanced level in China. It has certain guidance and reference for the design of the diesel hydrogenation unit, including the design in the cold regions.
