This study designed a interference settling classifier with deep cone type what was used for coarse coal slime classification, the classifier was used to solve the problem of coarse coal slime separation classification in coal preparation plant and have produced the industrial prototype.Through preliminary researching and reading literature to explore the laws of particle motion in the medium flow, we got the conditions of Particle classification in the process of hydraulic classification. On the basis of this, the design of classifier was proposed, through the calculating of the relevant parameters and designing of key components, the laboratory deep cone grader prototype was produced.In this paper, the hierarchical classification system was built by using the laboratory deep cone grader prototype, in the top of the water, feed concentration, feed coal quality under three different factors cases, the single factor test was designed with the slime in size of less than 3mm thick which were collected from three different plants single grading factor test, the results are as follows: when the top of the water environment was circle water and the direct water in 2+1m3/h, feed concentration from 30% to 40%, the classification efficiency and mismatched content grader realized the best state, the classification efficiency was above 90% and the mismatches content within 3g. By multivariate classifier multi-level orthogonal experiment, we got the results that the most significant factor of classification efficiency and mismatched matter content was top water environment in the top water environment, feed concentration and different coal samples from three factors, top water situation is more important than different coals, different coals is more important than feed concentration.Based on the laboratory studies of deep-cone classifier, the industrial design started, through the installation of automatic control equipment, developed control solutions for completed automation and equipment selection, the automation of the deep-cone interference settlement grader was came true. Than by working with machinery plant, we produced industrial prototype for industrial production. Based on the classifier, we propose a settlement embedded deep cone interference grader graded coarse slime separation process.
