Illite, one of the clay minerals, have been widely used a variety of areas including ceramic industry, paper industry, filler material of rubber plastic products, fertilizer industrial raw materials, construction industry, environmental protection industry, fine chemical engineering, etc. And the range of its application is still in development. Illite belongs to the polar mineral and easy access to water mineral. However, plastic, rubber and some other organic high polymer have non-polar hydrophobic surface. Because of their different hydrophobic, the compatibility of them also have some gaps, and uneven distribution, result in the application of clay minerals such as illite is limited greatly. Therefore, before the application requires modification of illite to improve its the surface hydrophobicity for filler material of organic high polymer and rubber plastic products. modified illite mineral raw materials in a different way is respectively used as rubber, plastic, resin, paint and other organic polymer filling material or stain. In recent years, comprehensive research(selecting, whitening and modify) and further development application have been carry out. Based on the differences of quality of illite mineral raw materials, By different degree and the way of deep processing, illite can be used in different levels of application.In this paper, we major in the surface modification of illite and performance of the modified product. This paper adopts a new type of cationic surfactant and utilizes microwave assisted synthesis method to modified refined illite, we are also study effect of different temperature and modifier dosage(0.2CEC, 0.6CEC, 1.0CEC, 1.4CEC, 1.8CEC) on the modified effects of illite. The modified illite and unmodified illite were investigated in detail by means of XRD, SEM, IR, TG confirmed that modification of illite by the modifier was successful. Meanwhile, the mechanical property of illite/PVC also was studied, and the results showed that the optimum condition is modifier dosage is 1.0CEC and modified illite dosage is 6phr.Meanwhile, the illite mineral raw materials are clay soil, doping impurities such as rocks and tree trunk etc., so, pulping and purification is indispensable step before modification of illite. The design of illite soil hydraulic pulp production equipment, determine the structure and parameters of equipment with annual mineral processing capacity of 50000 tons, including 3 m diameter in the drum cylinder, 10 m in length, 0.5 m in the screw push plate, 0.5 m in the adjacent plate spacing and 0.3 m/s in the rotating speed of the cylinder. At the same time, we emphasize and illustrate main components of the equipment, and put forward considerable issues in the equipment manufacture, installation and operation.
