With the rapid development of the economy, ocean development has become the important content of technology innovation in the world. And the development of offshore oil and gas field is the important part of the development and utilization of marine resources. And the main equipment is jack-up platform. Nowadays, the jacking system is mostly designed and manufactured by the foreign, while the domestic analysis for jacking unit is relatively lesser. So the research and study is significant.This thesis is to study the pinion and rack driven set, and includes the following research aspects about the large transmission ratio gearbox and pinion and rack driven set:(1) Optimization for hybrid multistage planetary reducer was done, and on the basis of the result, the large power and transmission ratio L style reducer wa s developed. By using ADAMS software, dynamics analysis for the design scheme was done. Thus the rationality of the design was verified. At the same time, this paper got the conclusion that the stability of the reducer decreases as the load variation;(2)This paper analysed the working principle of the pinion and rack driven set of jack-up, and described the overall design of the jacking unit with low speed and heavy load. Based on the finite element analysis software, this paper carried out the static and dynamic contact analysis for pinion and rack, and obtained the conclusion, that the larger stress occurred in the meshing contact surface and the tooth root part. Then on the basis of the result, the farther optimization of parameters was done, in order to improve the strength of the pinion and rack.(3) on the basis of the previous optimization, this paper produced the physical prototype of the jacking unit, and carried out the test, such as a series of load tests. The results proved that the optimization was reasonable and met the requirements.
