Electrochemical grinding and milling(ECGM) is a hybrid machining method of electrochemical machining, mechanical grinding and numerical controlled milling. It combines the high efficiency of electrochemical machining, good surface finish of mechanical grinding and high flexibility of numerical controlled milling, so it is quite suitable for the shaping of hard-to-machine materials, like titanium alloys and high temperature alloys. This paper focuses on experimental investigation of inner-jet electrochemical grinding and milling on GH4169, to research the influence of feed rate on overcut and surface finish, and the effect of the processing parameters on maximum feed rate. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Experimental setup was developed for inner-jet electrochemical grinding and milling, which consists of electrolyte supply system, data acquisition system, work chamber, fixture and so on.(2) According to the single-factor experiment of feed rate on overcut and surface roughness, the improvement of feed rate is not only helpful to increase the material remove rate, but also helpful to decrease overcut and surface roughness.(3) According to the single-factor experiment of processing parameters on maximum feed rate, the increase of voltage, temperature and pressure of electrolyte, the grit size of diamond are all helpful to improve the maximum feed rate of ECGM, and the spindle speed makes no difference to the maximum feed rate.(4) According to the orthogonal experiment, it is concluded that the primary and secondary relations of experimental factors affecting maximum feed rate is: Voltage>Pressure of electrolyte>Temperature of electrolyte>Grit size of diamond. And we can get the maximum feed rate of 4.6mm/min using ball-end electrode whose vector height is 1mm, and 2.6mm/min by using flat-end electrode under the optimized processing parameters of 25 V, 35?, 0.6MPa, 180# of diamond.
