Botanical pesticides with safe to the environment, high-selective, easy-degradable, is one of the main development direction of new pesticides. Punica granatum L. belongs to Punica Linn. Until 2012, our plantation of Pomegranate was the largest all over the world. Thus, to find out the economy value of Pomegranate is very important. Inoxidizability and anti-virus activity of punicalagin is general applied in medication. However, it is not known about control of plant virus disease. In order to investigate antiviral activity of punicalagin and the possibility of application of punicalagin, this study developed 2% punicalagin WP on the base of antiviral activity. The main results as follow:1. After industrialized extraction, the yield is 9.92±0.27%, and the purify of punicalagin mother liquid is 22.81±1.14%.2. Laboratory bioactivity showed that the EC50 and EC90 of punicalagin against tomato virus diseases are 32.56mg/L and 177.11mg/L, respectively.3. 2% punicalagin WP was developed, which consists of 10% punicalagin extract, 4%lauryl sodium sulfate, 5% sodium lignin sulfonate, 1% aluminium-magnesium silicate, 8%white carbon black and kaolin(reach 100%).4. 2% puicalagin WP used on recommendation dose or twice of recommendation dose can promote growing of the tomato plant.5. With the result of field test of 2% puicalagin WP, the average control efficiency for tomato TMV can exceed 50%, and it is safe for the plant on recommendation dose. These results suggest that punicalagin showed effective antiviral activity and 2%punicalagin WP can be used for preventing and treating tomato virus diseases.
