With China's steel industry development,and GG company products structure adjustment,compared with the original design,existing product specifications scope has been greatly expand.GG company products have changed from steel billet to long products,mainly with alloy steel and high carbon steel.And the merchandise's material is mainly with alloy steel and special specifications steel.The added value of the products is more higher and production is difficulter.Product adjustment makes the steel finishing system more useful compare with the original design,and the request of equipments is also greatly improved.As the steel industry leader,GG company must have hardware configuration and management advantage,to maintain certain in fierce market competition.Since September 1985,the PLC system of GG company steel finishing line has been operating for twenty-five years.The equipments have been made for nearly thirty years,and the control equipment's life is going to an end.Fault frequency is rising year by year,seriously affects the manufacturing,and is endangering the product quality.The PLC technical innovation of GG company steel finishing system project is updating of PLC equipment with the developmental and scalability PLC containing communication function,in order to meet production requirements.Project management is to use a range of tools and methods to reasonable allocate resources,complete the unique,complex one-time task within the prescribed time,cost,quality and restricted condition.Project management with clear objectives,within a certain scope of work progress and budget control,is working on a way to manage the whole process.Project management is an advanced management methods.Analyzing the characteristics of PLC technical innovation of GG company steel finishing system,the author find that the project completion time was very clear and reasonable project planning and control was extremely important.Therefore,the analysis and research development focus on the project plan and control the management of this project,thus achieving the purpose of completing the project on schedule.This paper describes a project management approach to promote the PLC technical innovation of GG company steel finishing system project,the project status and feasibility analysis.Based on the preliminary design of the project,through the decomposition and definition of project activities,sequencing project activities,progress estimation,established a project schedule.Therefore,analysing the critical path,the project is divided into several key stages,such as the development progress of the system design and electrical construction and commissioning.Combined with the project forward,continuously evaluating,correcting,adjusting,the results implementing.This paper provides management experience in project progress for follow-up to the automation and improvement of information of GG company steel finishing area.
