Now, aiming at functioning of materials, controllable self-assembly of coordination polymers (CPs) with novel structures and excellent properties has been a highlight of coordination chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. We plan to construct a series of functional CPs with luminescent and magnetic porperties via controlling synthetic process. We design three kinds of organic ligands to obtain 20 CPs successfully under the help of mutilcarboxylate ligands. The structures and properties for them have been discussed in detail by using XRD, FTIR, elemental analysis and fluorescent spectroscopy et al. The paper includes the following four parts:(1) Chapter 1:Introduction, the research state and development prospects of coordination chemistry and MOFs based on terpyridine derivatives have been introduced simply. The exploration and development of synthetic methods and influencing factors on construction of CPs also have been recommended briefly.(2) Chapter 2:Eight new CPs with 4'-(2-carboxyphenyl)-3,2':6',3"-terpyridine have been generated and characterized. Compounds 1 and 8 both are 3D structures based on spiral chains.2 and 4 are different 1D chains.3 and 7 are isosructure and exhibit a 2D network based on ?-? interaction.5 and 6 display distinct 3D architectures with the same components. The coordination features of carboxyphenyl-terpyridines have been discussed. And luminescent and magnetic properties have been studied.(3) Chapter 3:Ten new CPs with 4'-(3-carboxyphenyl)-3,2':6',3"-terpyridine and divalent metals have been synthesized. Compounds 10 and 15 are similar 1D chains. Compounds 9,12 and 13 are different 2D layer structures. Compounds 11,14,16-18 are distinct 3D topological networks. The effects of auxiliary ligands and pH values on assembly process have been discussed. Moreover, structures and properties have been investigated.(4) Chapter 4:Two Zn? CPs with 4'-(3-pyridyl)-3,2':6',3"-terpyridine have been obtained. Compound 19 is a 2D structure based on ?-? interaction.20 is a 3D cds topological network. The thermal stability and luminescent properties have been studies.
