Design And Implementation Of Granular Magnesium Desulfurization Automation Control System

In order to improve the quality of steel and reduce sulfur content in steel.The outer furnace molten iron desulfurization technology has got rapid development and wide application.Because of the metal magnesium and sulfur has a strong affinity,sulfur can be removed through the chemical reaction between magnesium and sulfur,so the hot metal desulphurization technology has developed rapidly in recent years by using metal magnesium.Among all those desulphurization technology using magnesium,the application of granulated magnesium desulphurization technology is the most widely applied.This paper introduces the granulated magnesium desulfurization process,describes the charging tank filling,blowing tank feeding and blowing tank blowing desulfurization operation process.It describes the structure of granular magnesium desulfurization equipment.The injection system,charging system and the spray gun traverse elevation system are introduced.Effects of hot metal desulphurization rate of success mainly depends on the amount of calculation is suitable for magnesium spraying or not.Magnesium injection quantity calculation mainly depends on the factor weight,temperature of molten iron,molten iron sulfur content,the initial target sulfur content and so on,the theoretical calculation is very complex.The calculation model of granular magnesium injection has been established based on the Ukraine technology and combined with the relevant experimental in this paper.Depending on SIEMENS Totally Integrated Automation(TIA)solutions,combined with the industrial Ethernet and field bus technology to select and design the automatic control system.The hardware part of the automatic control system by Siemens S7-400 series PLC and Profibus-DP field bus.The SIMATIC WINCC software has been used in the construction of human machine interface,which can realize the functions of data acquisition,supervision,control,alarm and so on.Use of the powerful function of STEP 7 programming software,blowing magnesium quantity calculation model has been developed by using look-up table method.Higraph programming language is used to achieve the perfect feeding and desulfurization process operation.This automatic control system has been successfully applied in XuanHua steel mill 150 tons of steel area.The desulfurization project had been successfully hot tested,and the automatic control system had already met the needs of the owners perfectly.
