Stacked injection mold is an efficient plastic processing technology,its production efficiency is twice or even more than general injection mold.It solves the bottleneck problem of short customer lead time and production cost in parts manufacturing industry.In our country,the technical research on stacked injection mold field begins very late.We lag behind the developed mold technology countries.For the popularization and application of Stacked injection mold technology,the standardization design and structure optimization method are studied in this paper.And the development of this kind of new mold can be supported by this paper.The structure of stacked injection mold is more complex,and the key components are feeding system,mold base system and action system.In order to realize the design standardization,a standard virtual assembly framework is proposed.It consists of three aspects of contents,the part components follow strict parent-child relationship,each part has a unique code,and non-geometric information is stored as the engineering properties.The feeding system design determines the success of stack injection mold design.The central feed and side feed hot runner system are commonly used in stack injection mold.Based on the analysis of their structural composition,the design requirements for the core component which is called hot runner plate are summarized.For the nozzles in the hot runner system,the standardized model was built by using parametric modeling technique.For the hot runner plate which needs to be designed individually,a method based on topology template is proposed to generate its standardized model.Structural strength analysis is the key technique to optimize the mold structure such as clamping thickness.It includes a series of activities such as model simplification,constraint loading and load applying.According to the characteristics of stacked injection mold,a model simplification method based on standard assembly framework is proposed.The scheme of constraint loading for stacked injection mold is analyzed and summarized.By using the nearest neighbor matching method,the melt pressure distribution on the mold cavity is mapped to the mold to complete the cavity pressure applying.Finally,the structural strength analysis of stacked injection mold is finished.In this paper,the principles and methods need to be followed in the structural design of stacked injection mold are described.The theory,method and case can support the development of the analogical mold.
