In recent years, our social economy develops rapidly and sewage emissions are growing with the day, sewage treatment technology has attracted extensive attention. Aeration system is the key component in the process of entire sewage treatment, and it plays an important role in stabilizing water quality and saving operating costs. Therefore, studying the control method of aeration system has very important theoretical and practical value.In this paper, research on aeration system control method is studied based on the actual situation and the requirements of engineering design to deepen the sewage treatment, stable water quality, ensure safety in production and reduce cost of sewage treatment, and the project state of Dalian Petrochemical Wastewater Treatment Plant is under consideration and investigated. A/O process is determined as sewage treatment technology and the technological process and parameters are analyzed. DO dissolved oxygen concentration value is eventually chosen as the main control parameter of aeration system by analyzing the operation parameters of the sewage treatment system. Considering the uncertainty of water inflow and the presence of variability and lagging in the system, this paper establishes the approximate mathematical model of wastewater treatment process and analyzes the commonly used control methods, and then introduces adapting the fuzzy PID control strategy to accurately adjust the aeration quantity for further improving sewage treatment efficiency and saving operational costs. MATLAB/Simulink software is used to build simulation model of aeration system and simulation results show that fuzzy PID controller has great control effect with small overshoot, fast response and fast steady compared with conventional cascade PID control.Finally, the fuzzy PID control method is applied to aeration system of Dalian Petrochemical sewage treatment plant, the actual operating data including dissolved oxygen concentration, water quality and energy consumption is analyzed to prove that the fuzzy PID control method is effective and has good control effect.
