With the constant expansion of oil and gas resources development,the geological environment of oil exploration is becoming increasingly complex.Nowadays,traditional drilling has received more and more challenge.Geosteering-drilling,as an emerging integrated drilling technology,can identify geological properties and make real-time judgments by analyzing the information which is collected during drilling,so as to control the forward direction of drill bit and reach the oil layer accurately.This technology can effectively solve the problem during oil and gas exploration,especially under the complicated geological environment.It is a potentially broad application prospects which can highly improve oil drilling in case rates,increase production as well as reduce the drilling risk.The visualization of Logging While Drilling(LWD)data,as an important part of geosteering-drilling,is still in the development stage,relevant issues need further research.Therefore,this paper will base on the forefront of technological development,mainly focus on the visualization of drilling data,and aim to achieve the visualization of 3D seismic data.By summarizing the content of geosteering-drilling and the development of 3D seismic data visualization,the research content of this topic has been determined.Through the study of visualization in scientific computing and the theory of 3D visualization,we comprehend the data processing of 3D visualization and the realization principle of volume rendering.Firstly,by analyzing the structure of seismic data,we propose the data processing flow,the numerical analysis method and data extraction algorithm based on SEGY file format.Secondly,based on the study of seismic data visualization,we achieve the visualization of seismic data in both waveform and variable density form,propose the color mapping and interpolation algorithm,present a multi-resolution seismic data structure which is based on octree,propose the file conversion method and achieve the volume rendering by using texture mapping algorithm.Finally,according to the needs of drilling,we propose a 3D visualization solution,give out the design idea of each module,and develop this system based on Qt and OIV.It is proved that this system can solve the problem of seismic data visualization during drilling effectively,meet the functional requirements for large-scale data visualization.It has laid the foundation for further research of geosteering-drilling.
