Technological Research Of 3D Visualization For Lwd Well Track And Log Data

Logging While Drilling(LWD)is an advanced logging technology which can measure various stratigraphic attributes and has been rapidly developed in recent years.LWD can provide real time geosteering support which is of great significance for the evaluation of hydrocarbon wells and complex formations.LWD is also meaningful for the exploitation of undeveloped oil-bearing reservoirs such as thin reservoirs and so on.The key technology of using LWD to realize geosteering and formation evaluation is the 3D visualization of LWD well track and log data.With the rapid development of computers and computer graphics,how to realize 3D visualization of LWD well track and log data has being a hot research topic.The 3D realization of well track and log data by using the track information and stratigraphic information around the track can show real logging process to drilling engineers at real-time and help them interpret LWD data more precisely.This paper is aimed at studying how to use 3D visualization technologies to realize 3D visualization of LWD well track and log data in current research situation at home and abroad.Firstly,this paper will analyze what 3D visualization technology and LWD is,how to preprocess and unify LWD data and how to compute the 3D space coordinates of well track and log curves.Secondly,this paper well introduce how to combine software engineering theory,OO analyze and design technology with data structure to design LWD data visualization prototype system.Finally,this paper will discuss how to use Qt and Open Inventor to realize the system.LWD data visualization prototype system is not only good at reading and processing all kinds of LWD data at real time,but also good at rendering of 3D well track and log curves efficiently and precisely.It has a high practical value.
