China has abundant heavy oil resources,especially these oil reservoirs usually have edge water or bottom water.During the production of steam stimulation,edge and bottom water can not only offer energy for production but als bring some bad effects.The technology of control water cut and stabilize oil production for heavy reservoirs with edge/bottom water will effectively restrain the water invasion,which can have a positive significant on oil production and subsequent flooding.In this paper,based on the review of related literatures,the technology of control water cut and stabilize oil production for heavy reservoirs with edge/bottom water were summarized.This paper analyzes the geological features and development characteristics and flooding mechanism of Pai 601 reservoir.The conclusion is that the water come from the edge water of reservoir.The concept simulation model of Pai 601 block is built.to analyse the sensitivity of some factors of reservoir.The simulation model of Pai 601 block is built on the base of geological parameters of reservoir.The development history of the block is fitted and the result of the original development way is predicted.We can see the the water incasion and coning effects will influence the effects of steam flooding.So,it is important to govermance the edge and bottom water.The injection time and volume of plugging agent were optimized.we can find that it have a good effect on water shut off by evaluated.It have a positive significant on oil production and subsequent flooding.
