In this paper,oligomerization of 1-tetradecene is systematically studied with aluminium chloride catalyst.Alkylation of benzene and 1-tetradecene was also prepared with the same catalyst at different reaction conditions in order to improve low temperature fluidity and solvency to additives of the oligomers.The compositions and structure of the products were characterized by GC,MS,IR and NMR methods,the relevant properties of the products are determined.The performance of the lubricating base stocks are desirable.The oligomerization product(PAO)with viscosity(V100?:24.6-29.7mm~2/s),viscosity index(162-177),pour point(-22?-30?),molecular mass(842-936)can also be obtained.The alkylation product is obtained with medium viscosity at 100?(11.5-15.3/mm~2/s),a high viscosity index(166-181),a low pour point(-24?-36?),and a moderate molecular mass(515-574).Another kind of lubricant compositions with different properties was in-situ synthesized by changing the ratio of benzene and 1-tetradecene with the same catalyst.The The compositions and structure of the products was analysized by NMR method.The results showed that the lubricant compositions is mainly composed of dialkylbenzene,trialkylbenzene and PAO,which possesses both the advantages of PAO and alkylbenzene with low volatility,high viscosity index(173-184),low pour point(-28?-38?),medium viscosity at 100?(12.4-20.1mm~2/s),and moderate molecular mass(480-669).
