The PB-1/PP blends were prepared by twin screw extruder to study the compatibility,rheology,melting and crystallization behavior,mechanical properties of PB-1/PP using the methods of DSC,DMA,capillary rheometer.Then the influences of heterogeneous particles on the properties of PB-1/PP were discussed after the addition of CB,talcum.DSC suggested that two single melting endotherms belonged to PB-1,PP appeared separately.The melting temperature of PB-1 tended to decline with the increasing of PP content.On the contrary,the melting temperature of PP decreased with the increasing of PB-1 content.The results of DMA showed two single glass transition relaxations.The T.of PB-1 turned to be higher owing to the existence of PP content,the T.of PP changed little with the changing of PB-1 content.Comprehensive studies indicated that PB-1,PP were compatibilized partially.The study of PB-1/PP rheology exhibited that PB-1/PP blends are shearing thinning system.As for PB-1/PP blends with same content,the viscosity decreased with the increasing of temperature but was enhaced after the addition of PP-g-MAH and CaCO3.The surface morphology of PB-1/PP showed that the shear rate when surface distortion appeared was increasing with the increasing of PP content.The surface of PB-1/PP will tent to be smoother.The D/D0 increased with shear rate,then tended to be stable when shear rates arrived to some level.The study about melting behavior and crystallization of PB-1/PP blends denoted that the Tm and AHm of PB-1 were reduced by the increasing of PP content,and PB-1 content had the same influences on the Tm and ?Hm of PP.When PB-1 acted as dispersed phase,the crystallization of PB-1 and PP were unaffected almost by each other.When PP content was close to PB-1,the existence of PB-1 promoted the crystallization of PP.The Tm and ?Hm of PB-1,PP decreased after the addition of CB,talcum which had famous heterogeneous nucleation effection on PB-1,PP.Besides,CB affected PB-1 content famously and talcum had more influences on PP content comparing with CB.The mechanical properties of PB-1/PP blends showed that tensile strength of PB-1/PP blends declined,elongation at break was enhaced with the increasing of PP content when PP content>50wt%.Flexural strength and modulus had been enhaced by the increasing of PP content,but impact strength became less with more PP content.When PP content was>50wt%,the tensile strength and elongation at break increased at first,then declined.That means appropriate PB-1 content can improve tensile properties of PP.The flexural strength and modulus decreasdd,impact strength was enhanced with the increasing of PB content.When CB(talcum)was added,tensile strength increased,elongation at break decreased while flexural strength and modulus increased,the impact strength after the additon of CB(talcum)was also resuced.
