Household Easel Innovating Research

Painting has been always a way for people to cultivate their tastes, so the painting tools are indispensable. With the development of economical society, painting is more and more popular with the public and thus painting tools are developed. There are a wide range of painting tools, this design aims to study the functional extension of easel. After the market survey and field visit, it is found that easel in the market are mainly used in large painting places, which is hard to satisfy people’s requirements to use it in home. Therefore, it is necessary to design household easel.This case is about the study of household easel. Based on the product design theory and ergonomics, the structure, function and material of household easel are analyzed and studied. This design focuses on the study of practical function of household easel. Combined with the original easel, the storing function are intensified and parcel shelf and doodling board are added. The easel can be assembled into painting box which achieves the portable function of household easel. This design satisfies consumers’ requirements and provides more convenience for them. The whole design is humanized.
