China is a large country of casting industry both in quantity and production, however, environmental becomes a big problem in this field. The environment has caused great impact for the enterprises and workers. So this paper will research the dust removal equipment of some factories to find a good way to improve the working environment of foundry works. According to the research of facts and enterprise staff's feedback, this paper mainly focus on the high pressure water mist system.According to the requirement of the high pressure water mist system, three kinds of high pressure water mist nozzle are developed in this paper. To carry out the nozzle model, fluid mechanics theory is used to analyze the nozzle. Experiment result shows that this method of designing is effective and the nozzles have excellent performance.Because there is no need to open all nozzles at the same time in many cases, so we need to develop a kind of solenoid valve with high reliability to control the line on and off. The solenoid valve developed in this paper has many advantages, such as simple structure, high reliability, small pressure loss, small leakage, and so on, so it can meet the system requirement very well. In the course of the development of solenoid valve, the valve core is a key part, which is closely related with the opening and closing, the seal and the pressure loss of the valve. So we do some study to the valve core to search how to optimize the design of the valve, and provide some reference for the future.At last, we did a complete set of comprehensive testing of the system. To meet some requirement, we determined the optimal nozzle layout scheme and system parameters of the system in consideration of the energy consumption, water consumption and dust removal efficiency. In the process of comprehensive test, high pressure solenoid valve and high pressure water mist nozzle working properly and the dust removal efficiency is about 89% when the pressure reaches 10 MPa.The high pressure water mist system where the spray and control components are used in this paper can greatly reduce the dust concentration and improve the working environment, and it can provide theoretical reference for the future of systems and components.
