Vacuum system is the core part of V-process casting, but the unreasonable design and use cause many casting problems and vacuum energy wasting in production. Combined with the production of enterprises, this paper compared the vacuum pump and optimized vacuum pipes. Finally, according to the casting and production requirements, designed the flask and trialed products successfully.Through the embedded vacuum gauge and modified flowmeter measuring pressure variation and gas flow in the mould during moulding and pouring, analysed the pressure and flow demand of mould, providing accurate basis for vacuum system design.Acoording to the production in factories, summarized the common problems and solutions for water ring vacuum pump and roots vacuum pump.Compared the two types pump in the follow aspects: limit negative pressure,gas flow,shaft power,energy saving,price and the electricity cost.Acoording to the data of flow, calculated and analysed the flow pattern in the pipes, and deduced flow conductance formula.Simulated and optimized the common pump access pipes, different power pumps connection,hoses connection pipe in the pouring line.Flask is the important part of vacuum system, the design of flask vacuum structure should suit for the casting and production requirement.The layout of sucktion tubes is the keypoint in flask design. This paper compared the advantages and disadvantages of various kinds of sucktion tubes, and presented the combination of circular suction tubes and square suction tubes.At last, based on the projects of foundries, designed casting process,flask structure and trialed products for the flat table aluminum alloy castings,shell pattern aluminum alloy castings,deep cavity steel castings.
