The serious fouling in the outlet pipeline of the two S6D20 hydrogen compressors in the chlor-alkali industry Co.Ltd.jammed the outlet valve and the corrosion perforated the oil-water discharge pipe and cooler tube, which caused the frequent shutdown of the compression system and seriously affected the normal production of the unit system.According to this situation, the corrosion, fouling and protection measures of hydrogen compression system were analyzed.1.The fouling component analysis, the condensate liquid composition analysis and the water component analysis of the compression system were presented and results confirmed that the corrosion and fouling of the compression system is related to oil and hydrogen containing chlorine and moisture.2.Lubricating oil dissolving experiment was carried out and result confirmed that the reaction of the lubricating oil led to the decrease of condensate pH value. The yellow or black jelly in compressor outlet piping is the mixture of rust, cylinder wear debris, other impurities and resultant of the interaction of ferric chloride,UCON oil and water.3.We explored the corrosion of 20#steel in the condensate containing chlorine with the CR-6 corrosion rate measurement system Result shows that as the Cl-concentration of level 1-3 increases, the corrosion of 20#steel gradually increases.4.The slow strain rate stress corrosion experiment was carried out.The experiment result shows that the 20#steel corrosion rate increases with the decrease of the pH value of the chlorine solution.5.The thickness of oil-water pipeline was investigated by using TT300 ultrasonic thickness meter. The experimental data shows that the thickness of the pipe reduced and the maximum reduction of thickness has reached 50%.6.Aspen software was adopted to simulate the condensing process, the results show that the precipitation of water is 0.178kg/h?0.222kg/h after the first level compression and cooling when the single compressor capacity is 200kg/h?249kg/h.In order to extend the hydrogen pressure unit operation cycle, reduce the maintenance frequency, increase production and reduce maintenance cost, the method combining composition detection, experiment research, nondestructive testing and Aspen simulation was used to found the causes of corrosion and fouling of the hydrogen compression system. The anti-tcorrosion and anti-fouling measures were also put forward.
