In Iraq GARRAF oilfield the formation with complex interval layers. In the conventional drilling operation,the shale formation easily happen sloughing and pipes tuck accidents. At the same time, in order to reduce the operation cost, 20 wells are distributed on the three platforms,and the construction of the cluster wells poses challenges to the collision prevention work. Especially in the high inclination wells that will happen more times possibility. With the development of 3D horizontal well have been applied in this block, the trajectory and drilling parameter optimization become more required , the team need guarantee the down hole tools safety and operation hazard by the optimization measures.This paper is aimed at the special stratigraphic situation in the GARRAF district of Iraq,and the numerical simulation technique is used to optimize the well trajectory and HBA. The track designed has the best slope deviation rate and azimuth change rate, the shortest well length, the minimum torque and the friction resistance under the requirement of the tool available at field. According to the simulation of BHA trend, comparison of different strata made slope, BHA optimization and trajectory optimization combination, optimizing drilling parameters, solve the wellhead small spacing, anti-collision requirements, leakage formation build-up rate is low, long steady inclined section difficulties, on the premise of mine safety technology, precise control to maximize and compound drilling trajectory. In the premise of meeting the requirements of tool capacity, rate and azimuth inclination change the trajectory designed with optimal rate, shortest wellbore length, minimum torque and friction characteristics. Through scientific modeling field experience accumulation and analysis software, the trajectory optimization to reduceDownhole operation risk, ensure the safety of tools, improve the drilling speed, achieved good results.
