As an important transmission component,gear has a number of advantages,such as heavy load capacity,high transmission efficiency,stable transmission ration,constant power output and so on.At present,gear shaping technology shows a trend of high speed and efficiency.Given that the inertia of spindle reciprocating parts is too large,it is difficult to achieve high efficiency by increasing the stroke speed.In the process of conventional gear shaping,the gear shaping cutter and gear blank rotate uniformly with a given gear ratio and the cutting area varies periodically in cutting tooth spaces.It makes the cutting force less than the rated capacity of the gear shaper in most cutting strokes,and thus leads to a low efficiency.Therefore,cooperating with Tianjin first machine tool factory,Tianjin University put forward a novel gear shaping method based on constant cutting area by variable circular feed.This new approach improves the processing efficiency from the perspective of gear shaping principles.In this process,the cutting area can always be kept at the target value,and thus the cutting efficiency can be improved effectively.In this paper,the optimization of gear shaping process based on constant cutting area by variable circular feed is proposed to obtain the maximized cutting efficiency.The contents and contributions of the thesis are as follows:1.According to meshing theory and gear shaping principles,the parametric models of gear shaping cutter were established by using the rack cutter as the tool of machining circular gear shaping cutter.2.The model of gear shaping process was built based on the model of gear shaping cutter by use of MATLAB.And then,this model was used to simulate the gear shaping process and calculate the cutting area.3.Aiming at the maximum processing efficiency,a distribution method of radial feed frequency and radial feed value in the process of gear shaping was proposed to realize the optimized allocation.Then,according to the principle of constant cutting area,by planning the rotary feeding speed of gear shaping,constant cutting area in the total gear shaping process was achieved.4.The program of High efficiency gear shaping process based on variable circular feed system was developed using Visual C#.This program has the functions of establishing the parametric model of gear shaping cutter,simulating the process of gear shaping,calculating cutting area,allocating the radial feed frequency and radial feed value and planning the rotary feeding speed.
