In the ultra-precision machining,it is easy to appear the phenomenon of the graphitization,which leads to the serious wear of the diamond tools when using the diamond cutting tool to cut the ferrous metal material.So it is crucial for the research of cutting mechanism and the diamond wear mechanism to measure the cutting temperature of the tool tip.This paper combined the use of thin-film thermocouple and ultra-precision machining.And the thin-film thermocouple was plated to the tip of PCBN tool,which can cut and measure temperature at the same time.Some experiments of measuring the cutting temperature were carried out using the temperature measuring tool.And some experimental results are obtained.The method of measuring temperature was introduced to the process of ultrasonic vibration assisted machining to explore the effect of ultrasonic vibration on the temperature measurement of the thin-film thermocouple.This subject is mainly around the measuring methods of transient temperature of the tool tip,including the choice of the sensor,as well as the preparation of the sensor,and finally completed the cutting temperature measurement experiment.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1.Analyzed the method of measuring the cutting temperature,and select the method which is suitable for this subject.2.Analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of thin film sputtering deposition technology,as well as the method of magnetron sputtering thin film preparation.And described its principle.3.Designed the structure for the integration of the thin-film thermocouple sensor and turning tools.Used the method of magnetron sputtering to prepare the thin-film thermocouple and SiO2 insulation film on the PCBN tool.4.The thin film sensor was calibrated at 0-300 ?.Among 0-100 ? it was calibrated in standard water tank,and 100-300? was calibrated in standard oil tank.And designed the measurement circuit and temperature compensation circuit.5.The temperature of cutting tool was simulated,and the distribution of the cutting temperature and the flow of cutting heat were observed.6.Designed the tool adapter and variable amplitude lever which were suitable for the common lathe and the temperature measurement experiment was carried on the machine.7.Using temperature measuring tool to carry out the temperature measurement experiment on the ultra-precision turning machine.And temperatures of the common turning and ultrasonic assisted turning were measured,respectively.
