Material is the soul of design,and in a sense,design is not so much a matter of the planning of human behavior as the search and use of materials and final design is to the design of material.The paper applies the research method of Xylology to obtain the textured pattern of different sections of Finland Pine and extracts the pattern characteristic based on deeply understanding wood collage art;Applying the research method of pattern study,aiming at the textured pattern characteristic to the pattern design;Applying the research method of product design,aiming at the textured pattern of Finland Pine to the wood pinup picture product design.The wood collage applies in the furniture,wood collage decorative picture and other products based on the constructive method of plane collage and stereo collage,with the natural fresh style and the flexible and varied constructive method.Applying the research method of wood study,exploring the cross section,radial section,tangential section and three diagonal sections with three standard sections becoming 30° included angle,and the textured pattern characteristic of knar,burr and crack and the natural information,color element and pattern unit are extracted.Aiming at the color characteristic,using the method of color combination and color contrast to the pattern design.Aiming at the pattern unit,using the method of monomer direct use,combination,reconstruction and variation to the pattern design.Based on the above research,using colorific direct use and reconstruction,composition of a picture with false or true complement,the expression of individuation element,combinations of comprehensive form and usage method of different material to innovate and design the Finland Pine pinup picture.The natural color highlights the clear and natural texture of Finland Pine and dyeing treatment enriches the color of Finland Pine pinup picture;In the composition of a picture with false or true complement,picture of leaving a note brings out the best in each other with the collage part of wood pattern,and blank more highlights the texture of the beautiful;The expression of individuation element fully digs out the aesthetic value of the wood;The combinations of comprehensive form,by using the method of harmony,the various forms and elements can be reconstructed to achieve the overall beauty of "harmony and unity";The combination of Finland pine and marble,cork and other materials appears the unexpected beauty to rich the modeling of wood pinup picture.
