The first-phase desulfurization system of Tongtai company has been run for ten years.Though the devices appear various advantages,as time goes,many problems have been occured in the old regenerator.Under the circumstance of the new second-pHase coke oven project and methanol project,a new desulfurization project is in urgent need to reduce the stress of current desulfurization working condition caused by the increasement of gas volume.The gas after desulfurization returns back to the boiler and discharged into air after combustion.The product of hydrogen sulfide burning is sulfur dioxide which is the main factor of acid rain.High content of hydrogen sulfide in coal gas can cause the deactivation of methanol catalyst which will increase the cost.What's more high-sulfur gas which contains water vapor will corrode the pipes.So it is very important to remove hydrogen sulfide and choose the appropriate desulfurization process.There are many ways to treat the hydrogen sulfide contained in coal gas at home and abroad.This paper will introduce the traditional desulfurization process combined with the current condition of our company and the actual operation situation in many related companies and concluds that PDS process is suitable for current development status of our company.This paper mainly focuses on equipment selection,site layout and the control of process parameters which will both meet treatment effect and satisfy the current site condition that space of desulfurization section is very small.The desulfurization results of the new system is evident.Under the condition of increasing gas volume,the process increases the efficiency of desulfurization,lowers the content of hydrogen sulfide in coal gas and ensures the normal production of methanol and the quality of discharged gas.But the process still has the problems of fast generation of double salt,quick increasement of system resistance,high export sales of doctor solution and high content of oxygen in gas.Through the analysis of various factors that may influence the desulfurization efficiency,optimizing process parameters and further reforming the device,the improved process has the advantage of saving an old regenerator,reducing the export sales of doctor solution and ensuring the gas quality that will enter methanol workshop.It will provide reference and guidance to the renovation of wet desulfurization technology for company.
