Wood-based electromagnetic shielding composite materials have advantages of light mass and beauty,and can broaden the application of wood products,improving the added value of wood.In this study,electromagnetic shielding veneer was prepared by multiple electroless copper plating means with poplar veneer as the substrate.Electromagnetic shielding particleboard was prepared by optimizing the hot-pressing process.The mechanical properties and Electromagnetic shielding performance of the sheet were studied.The conclusions of the study are summarized as follows:(1)With the increase in the number of electroless plating,the electrical conductivity of the wood gradually increased,the electromagnetic shielding performance gradually increased,after two the second electroless plating,a continuous dense metal layer has formed on the veneer surface.But after two electroless run,the increase of shielding value is very limited.(2)Electroless copper plating on the surface of veneer improves the mechanical properties of veneer,and after two electroless run,the tensile strength of strip grain nearly 2 times higher than that of wood,which can effectively prevent the cracking of veneer.After 3 and 4 electroless run,the metal layer is too thick and hard,which limit the application.(3)Particle shape has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of particleboard.The greater the thickness of particleboard is,the worse the performance is;the greater the aspect ratio of particleboard,the better the performance is;the bigger the shaving,the better the performance is.Taking into account,the best shape is showed as follow:the thickness of 0.4 mm,aspect ratio of 8,D-shavings.(4)The hot-pressing process of particleboard has a very big impact on the performance.The performance of the particleboard increased with the increase of the sizing amount,and the glue was saturated when the sizing amount was more than 12%.The performance of the particleboard increased with the increase of the density of the board,the best density of the board is 0.8 g/cm3.Particleboard performance increased with the increase of hot-pressing temperature,when the hot-pressing temperature exceeds 110℃,the adhesive layer gradually aging.(5)Based on the single-factor test,the hot-pressing process was optimized by the corresponding surface experiments.The results showed that the density had the greatest influence on the particleboard performance,followed by the sizing quantity,and finally the hot-pressing temperature;the interaction between the density and the size on the bending strength of the plate is strong.The interaction between the amount of sizing and hot pressing temperature on the bending strength of the plate is not significant.The regression model of the hot pressing parameters and the static bending strength of the particleboard is obtained,and it is verified that the model is reliable.
