Due to the improvement of the surface quality requirements of the electrolytic cathode copper,the products need to be filtered to eliminate the non-standard copper cathode.Therefore,an enterprise in Yunnan,in order to meet the market demand,artificial selection is used in the process,but the screening also exposed some problems as time goes by.There is no fixed standard,low efficiency and accuracy,high labor intensity.With the popularization of machine vision,the application of this technology in industrial production is more and more widely,and it has become one of the most important technologies in industrial automation.The problems of artificial screening are solved by machine vision technology and realized the automatic detection and screening of cathode copper in this paper.Machine vision is an important means to obtain the target image information,its ability of self-recognition can be increased by image processing technology.In this paper,based on the analysis of the characteristics of machine vision technology and the demand of production,the surface quality inspection system is designed which is based on machine vision:(1)Extracting the image information.(2)Extracting surface characteristic parameters of cathode copper accurately and fast,and determining the classification of copper cathode.(3)Screening of cathode copper by manipulator according to classification.Aiming at the problems that need to be solved,the research work is focused on image processing.The research contents of this paper are as follows:First of all,according to the actual production conditions,the parameters of the hardware devices such as light source,camera,lens,image acquisition card and so on are determined;Secondly,the machine vision technology is studied.Based on the Halcon platform,the recognition algorithm based on edge detection and threshold segmentation is used to analyze,comprehend and extracted the required information.Then,the man-machine interface is developed,and the surface quality of cathode copper can be feedback in time,so as to realize the communication between the manipulator and the PC.Finally,the related experiments are completed,and the problems are found,which provides the basis for further optimization.The application that image processing technology is used in the detection of surface quality of cathode copper,has solved the problem of manual inspection without fixed standards,man-machine work which is not matching,low accuracy and large amount of labor workers.It has completely got rid of the interference of human factors,and achieved full automatic production of cathode copper.
