Based on the study of the process mineralogy of illite clay,this paper has found that illite clay has many effects on the dyeing of iron and titanium,and it's color is yellow after long time,and its application value is explored by this paper.The method of removing iron is explored.But the Total iron removal effect is limited.With the illite clay mineral as natural mineral raw material,calcined and successfully activated into amorphous material to activate clinker synthesis of mordenite molecular sieves,and compared with iron raw materials and raw materials for the addition of iron raw materials made of mordenite Catalytic performance.(1)The main components of illite clay are quartz SiO2 and Al2O3.Metal minerals are more,pyrite,magnetite,limonite,yellow potash iron,rutile,zircon,of which the main mineral minerals mainly pyrite.Due to the presence of metallic minerals impurity iron,illite clay clay for a long time after the emergence of reduced whiteness,the phenomenon of yellow color,to be directly used,need to consider the first iron minerals impurities removed.But the stained impurity pyrite and yellow potassium iron alum Kemei particle size is too small,will seriously affect the effect of iron removal.(SiO2)/ n(Al2O3)= 9.84,which is in accordance with the requirement of silica / alumina ratio for the preparation of mordenite molecular sieves with natural minerals.(2)The content of aluminite clay(semi-soft)Al2O3 is 12.11%,SiO2 content is 71.51% The The results of differential thermal analysis and XRD analysis show that it is not a typical high content of illite clay mineral,and it can be regarded as potassium feldspar KAl3SiO8 in the experimental study of synthetic mordenite molecular sieves.(3)iron ore test on the illite clay,including flotation test,high gradient magnetic separation test,superconducting magnetic separation test.It was found that adding 0.3 g of water glass to the pre-flotation stage resulted in the addition of Fe and Fe content to 0.38% which is the lowest,and we found the effect of the amount of activator and collector on the iron removal effect was not significant;Flotation-magnetic separation combined with iron test results are poor;single high gradient magnetic separation effect is not good;the use of superconducting magnetic separator iron removal effect as a whole than the flotation and high gradient magnetic separation effect is much better,but Still can not achieve the desired effect of removing most of the iron impurities.(4)calcination activation test of illite ore.The calcination temperature,the calcination and holding time,the ratio of raw ore to soda ash during calcination,and the fineness of the calcination were investigated.The results showed that the calcined temperature was 650 ?,the temperature maintained at 90 Minutes,the ratio of raw ore to soda ash was 1: 1.Under the optimum conditions of 15 min grinding before calcination,illite was destroyed in the calcination process.The hydroxyl group lost water Resulting in rearranging the lattice to obtain soluble sodium aluminosilicate powder.(5)Using hydrothermal reaction by calcining activated clinker to prepare mordenite zeolite,through the investigation of silicon and alkali ratio,water ratio,crystallization timeand the evaluation criteria were characterized by XRD pattern,it was found that the XRD pattern of the product obtained at 6Na2O: Al2O3: 10SiO2: 150H2 O,the crystallization temperature of 170 ? and the crystallization time was very similar to the reference value.The peak value was sharp and the relative peak intensity was consistent with the reference value.It can be considered that the product of good quality mordenite is obtained.(6)Superconducting magnetic separation products(except iron Fe content 0.37%)that mentioned earlier are used its best conditions for the preparation of mordenite zeolite,also it was used to do the Toluene catalytic reaction with the Mordenite that without removal of iron Illite.The product analysis showed that,The catalytic effect of mordenite prepared with illite as natural mineral raw material is much higher than that of FeCl3,and the mordenite prepared by iron removal after iron removal is better than that of untreated montmorillonite.
