Functional membrane materials have unique physical and chemical properties and are applied widely, while the diversity of its preparation materials also determines the diversity of its preparation method.Compared with other preparation method, layer by layer self-assembly(LBL)technique can controll the composition, structure, layer numbers of membrane and have the advantage such as rich film forming material type and more selective base material, being widely applied in photoelectric device, biomedical materials, drug sustained release, and many other fields. In this study,L-Phenylalaninol derivative of poly(ethylene-alt-maleic anhydride)(PEMAPEA)was synthesized and was characterized with FTIR.Then three stationary phases for HPLC were prepared by alternate deposition of chitosan(CHI)or poly(allylamine hydrochloride)(PAH)and poly(sodium-p-styrenesulfonate)(PSS)or PEMAPHE on the surface of chromatography silica gel. Results of UV and FTIR shown CHI/PSS?CHI/PEMAPHE and PAH/PEMAPHE multilayers were successfully built. In reverse phase conditions, the chromatographic retention behaviors of a variety of compounds including alkyl benzene, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, amine, phenolic on CHI/PSS or CHI/PEMAPHE or PAH/PEMAPAH multilayer were determined. The results showed several interactions such as hydrophobic, hydrophilic and ?-? interactions between analyte and stationary phase play important roles in the chromatographic separation of analytes. The influence of different functional groups in analytes on their chromatographic retention behavior and stationary phase chromatographic properties are discussed.Stationary phase show different chromatographic properties under different ratio of mobile phase.Under high water content in mobile phase, the retention of nonpolar compounds such as alkyl benzenes and pahs weakened with the increase of organic phase and show the nature of the reversed phase liquid chromatography. After water content in mobile phase is more than a certain proportion, the retention of nonpolar compounds increase slowly.Retentions of polar compounds including amines,phenols,p-hydroxy benzoic acid and its esters keep increase after contents of acetonitrile in mobile phase is more than certain proportion. The curve of capacity factors and contents of acetonitrile in mobile phase is U type, indicating the nature of hydrophilic interaction chromatography of stationary phases. The chromatographic retention mechanism to different analytesis analyzed. The results showed that the stationary phase is formed stationary phase tith the unity of hydrophobic and hydrophilic identification system.Comparing chromatographic columns buidup with different polyelectrolytes,it is found that they show hydrophilic for poler analytes.Different multilayer stationary phases shows different hydrophilic to analytes with same polar. The results show that the stationary phase of the assembly of polyelectrolyte with different functional groups hve significantly influence ability to recognize analytes.
