Due to its highly ordered structure system,Liquid crystal structure emulsion is widely used in cosmetics,as a kind of special structure of emulsion.Liquid crystal structure emulsion possess good stability and moisturizing effect.In addition,as the carrier of active substances,Liquid crystal structure emulsion play a role in the control of the release and promote penetration.In this paper,The influences of formulation composition on formation of liquid crystal structure were studied first.The effects of the structure of the emulsifier,the aliphatic alcohols with different carbon chain length,the liquid lipids with different polarities,the polyols and the sodium chloride on the system were studied.Results showed that the formation of the liquid crystal structure are highly dependent on the structure of the emulsifier.For the alkyl glucoside emulsifier,the structure of the hydrophobic group was closer to the carbon chain structure of the fatty alcohol,and the liquid crystal structure was more regular.With the increase of liquid oil,liquid crystal structure changed from hollow maltese cross shape into solid maltese cross shape.As the content continued to increase,liquid crystal disappeared.The stronger of polarity of liquid oil,the lower of the maximum content of liquid oil that could form the liquid crystal.Addition of a few Polyols was favorable for formation of liquid crystalline structure as well as with smaller particle size and more homogeneous particle distribution.With the increase of content of Polyols,liquid crystal structure of particles became uneven,and gradually disappeared.When the content of NaCl increased to a certain extent,liquid crystal structure particles were obviously increased.After that,the method of natural emulsification method and liquid crystal emulsification were studied.The experimental results showed that in view of the specific system,liquid crystal emulsification method favored the formation of liquid crystal structure.It was easier to form emulsified particles having a smaller particle size and uniformity.Then,the application performance of liquid crystal structure emulsion was studied.The results showed that in the smear after 30 min,due to the evaporation of water,liquid crystal structure was no longer structured in the oil-water interface of the emulsified particles,but liquid crystals still exist.Compared with the ordinary structure emulsion,the liquid crystal structure emulsion had more excellent moisturizing property,slow release effect and the osmotic effect.Compared with the liquid emulsion prepared by natural emulsification method,the liquid crystal structure emulsion prepared by liquid crystal emulsion method had higher moisture content.Multiple structures emulsion containing liquid crystal structure were prepared by combining liquid crystal emulsification method and the two-step emulsification method.Liquid crystal structure enhanced stability of the multiple structure emulsion.
