| Blast furnace slag is one of key by-products in the process of iron melting.The emission of blast furnace slag is increasing with the development of our country.The utilize ratio of blast furnace slag is about 80%.It is low value-added which is utilized in the field of highway,foundation engineering,railway ballast and asphalt pavement.It is one of the hot research spot in abroad to look for the new way to resource utilize the blast furnace slag and develop the high value-added product which is the new growth in iron and steel enterprises.The blast furnace slag is belonging to silicate material which contains SiO2,CaO,Al2O3,MgO and so on.The composition of the blast furnace slag is similar to glass fibers,so it is feasible to utilize blast furnace slag to manufacture glass fiber.Three major parts are studied in this thesis.The first,I research the feasibility which utilize the blast furnace slag and batch material(SiO2,CaO,Al2O3,MgO and B2O3)to manufacture the glass fiber which compares the properties with E-glass fiber.And what’s more,I research influence of the slag contents on the properties of glass fiber.The second,I research the influence of the B2O3 and Al2O3 contents on glass which is manufactured by blast furnace slag and analysis the apparent characteristics of glass by SEM,XRD and FTIR.At last,I research the properties of the reinforced glass fiber manufactured by blast furnace slag.Following important points are depicted:(1)The glass fiber is manufactured by the corresponding process which mixed the blast furnace slag and batch material together,melted in high temperature and got the glass fiber by drawing-bench process.It is feasible that we utilize the blast furnace slag to manufacture glass fiber.After performance comparison between E-glass fiber and the glass fiber which is manufactured by all contents blast furnace slag,the glass fiber which contains 50%blast furnace slag is the optimized.(2)The increasing content of slag has the great influence on the performance of glass fibers.The density of glass fibers increased with increasing of the slag contents,as well as monofilament tensile intensity and chemical stability.The analysis shows that Ca and Mg content is increasing with the slag quality improved.These two elements have the characteristic which change the physical and chemical properties.At the same time,the color of glass fiber is becoming darker with Ti4+ and Fe3+ content increasing in the blast furnace slag.At the same time,the glass fiber which is manufactured by blast furnace slag is tested on XRD and there isn’t any crystal peak in the graph.It suggests that there isn’t crystallization during the process of drawing-benching.The FTIR shows the peak of corresponding functional group.The SEM graph shows that the glass fiber surface is smooth and it shows the process of drawing bench is well.(3)By changing the contents of B2O3 in the glass which is manufactured by blast furnace slag,the article researches the changes of all kinds of properties.The results show that the density and the viscosity are decline with the B2O3 content improving.The chemical stability shows that it climbs up and then decline.(4)By changing the contents of Al2O3 in the glass which is manufactured by blast furnace slag,the article researches the changes of all kinds of properties.The results shows that the viscosity is increasing with the Al2O3 content improving.The density of glass shows decline with the Al2O3 content improving.The chemical stability descends by improving the Al2O3 content.(5)The glass fibers which contained 7%B2O3 and 17%Al2O3 respectively were tested on FTIR.It shows the corresponding peak of functional group.The XRD shows that there isn’t any crystal peak in the graph.The SEM graph shows that the glass fiber surface is smooth and it shows the process of drawing bench is well.(6)The glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites were obtained after the composition of slag glass fiber and epoxy resin.On the one hand,the flexural strength and modulus were increased by the increased content of glass fibers.One the other hand,the flexural strength and modulus were increased by the increased revolution number.The samples were tested on the SEM and the glass fibers were evenly distributed among the resin.The article used blast furnace slag as the main raw material and took melt-drawing method to prepare slag glass fiber and composite materials.It can be used as a new material for the building materials industry.Its preparation process and formula is simple and conducive to the promotion and practical application of technology.The whole process reflects green "3R"(reduce,reuse,recycle)principle.And what’s more,the development of products has a very large economic,environmental and social benefits. |
