Sulfur-containing organic compounds widely exists in areas such as pesticide, pharmaceutical drugs, dye and materials science,it's remarkable to building C-S bonds in a simple, efficient and green method. From the perspective of sustainable development,it is more urgent to find more stable and well-stocked sulfur source;from the perspective of green chemistry,it is urgent to find non-toxic and harmless raw materials, catalysts and solvents.Constructing a C-S bond by activating a C-H bond can effectively enhance step economy and improve the atom economy of the reactions, may even realize some chemical synthesis which conventional method is difficult to complete.Sulfite and elemental sulfur is more stable,no special smell, cheap, easy access to raw materials than other organic sulfide reagents. This paper bases on "environment-friendly C-S bond construction" and a series of research work on building C-S bonds has been carried out using the sulfite or sulfur powder as the the sulfur source. The details are as follows:1.A new method for the synthesis of 2-sulfone methyl quinolines was developed using sulfonates and 2-methylquinoline compounds as starting materials. This reaction was carried out using sodium sulfinates as sulfonylating agents and potassium iodide as additives without any transition metal catalysts to efficiently synthesize 2-sulfone methylquinoline compounds.2.Chemoselective cross-coupling reaction of sodium sulfinates with phenols under aqueous conditions. In this process, stable and readily available sodium sulfinates were used as sulfuration source,by controlling the acidity of the reaction, the aryl sulfide or sulfone compounds can be obtained under aqueous condition in the absence of transition-metal catalyst.3.Copper-catalyzed three-component(arenes,iodohydrocarbon,and sulfur powder)one-pot synthesis of aryl sulfides under aqueous conditions.Water is used as the green solvent and the rich reserves of sulfur powder is used as a sulfur source, various functional groups attached to the substrates were well tolerated in this process to afford the corresponding products.
